AFI Ground School
AFI's Ground School courses
are designed to help the student pilot obtain the knowledge
necessary to pass the FAA written exam. Ground school is
conducted twice a week for 8 weeks in order to allow enough time
for concentrated study of material versus "cramming" or
memorizing answers for the exam.
Aviation Ground
school has two main purposes:
1. To build a
Solid understanding of aviation and aerodynamic subjects (i.e.
how the wing creates lift, what aerodynamic forces are acting on
the airplane in turning flight, how to read aeronautical
navigation charts, some causes and hazards of common weather and
how to avoid them, regulations governing flight, etc.).
2. To prepare the student to take and pass the FAA Knowledge
test which asks questions on: navigation charts, aerodynamic
forces, flight regulations, etc.).
Private Pilot Course
Saturdays 8am-4pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
